Creative Conservation Alliance

The Creative Conservation Alliance (CCA) is a science-based, government-registered non-profit organization, dedicated to the protection and restoration of Bangladesh most threatened species, and their habitats, in the last remaining wild places of the country. Our holistic approach is firmly rooted in grassroots initiatives that empower local communities to actively champion the protection of their natural resources. Our organization has achieved notable conservation success through forging partnerships with both governmental and non-governmental entities, rigorous scientific research, conservation breeding and reintroduction programs. We strive to provide sustainable livelihoods for local communities and establish conservation agreements with indigenous groups to promote sustainable management of natural resources. Our inclusive community-based conservation models are instrumental in giving local communities the tools and a platform to protect their lands from impending threats. CCA is currently concentrating its efforts in the eastern region of Bangladesh, at the Western fringes of the Indo-Burma Biodiversity Hotspot. We have achieved significant milestones on the population recovery of number of globally threatened species, most notably the critically endangered freshwater turtles and tortoises.
